YOU HUNGRY?!?! Vol. ONE

The project is playful and intentional – exploring themes of ancestral hunger, migration, and joyful resistance. It features electric guitar, layered drum programming, ambient textures, and organic instrumentation, drawing on influences from Latin-tinged guitar work, amapiano, and afrobeats.

WogBelly’s political and creative voice is deeply shaped by their Cypriot heritage. Their grandparents spent over a decade working in Wales, UK, before losing everything and becoming refugees after the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus. The long legacy of colonial rule—particularly the divide-and-conquer tactics that fractured Turkish and Greek Cypriot communities—continues to inform their perspective. That history of displacement, fragmentation, and resilience underpins the spirit of this EP.

While this is a solo work, WogBelly has previously collaborated with artists including Clever Austin, Silentjay, and Willow Beats. They also produce and perform with the Latin folktronica band Sunseeds (including the tracks Agua de Lluvia, Canción de Resistencia, and Sola en la Arena), and have worked closely with Chilean folk singer Vanessa Estrada, producing Agua Libre and En el Río.
